Sep 5th: Charity dinner with Magid Magid MEP

Join us for delicious food in aid of a good cause!

The Quaker Council for European Affairs and Magid Magid MEP (Greens-EFA, Yorkshire and the Humber) invite you a Syrian dinner in Quaker House Brussels, in aid of the humanitarian NGO Refugee Rescue.

Refugee Rescue is a grassroots NGO operating a skilled Search and Rescue team on the north shore of Lesvos, Greece. Their vessel and its crew are on call 24 hours per day, ready to assist those in distress at sea. Onshore, they keep watch for boats in difficulty and work alongside partners to provide emergency relief for new arrivals. With their single lifeboat, Mo Chara, the Refugee Rescue team have saved over 3,500 lives since January 2016.

On Thursday 5 September, we are co-hosting an evening of delicious Syrian food prepared specially for us by #WeExist, an initiative set up by Syrian people living in Belgium. Their aim is to facilitate access into the labour market and cultural life for people who have fled conflict and persecution, as well as to raise awareness of Syrian culture and traditions. They do this by cooking incredible fresh food from their home country for everyone to enjoy.

All proceeds from this event will go directly to Refugee Rescue, helping them to continue their vital work. It’s also an excellent opportunity to learn more about our work, enjoy an evening of stimulating conversation and taste some excellent food.

We’d love for you to join us!
