QCEA joins fellow Quaker organisations in discerning that the ongoing military actions of the Israeli government against Palestinian communities in Gaza and the West Bank constitute genocide.
For the past two years, we have witnessed starvation campaigns, mass killings, mass deportations, ethnic cleansing, settler violence, and the deliberate erasure of life.
Decades of humanitarian work and accompaniment with Palestinian and Israeli communities have taught us that these are not isolated atrocities, but part of a brutal, ongoing 76-year project of displacement and denial of Palestinians’ human rights.
Therefore, we call for:
- An immediate and permanent ceasefire
- Full humanitarian access to Gaza
- Targeted sanctions and a comprehensive arms embargo
- Accountability under international law
- Protection of free speech and the right to protest
- A just and lasting peace rooted in equality, dignity, and self-determination for all
As Quaker signatories, we commit to advocating relentlessly for the end of the Israeli genocide in Gaza and highlighting the voices of Palestinians, which have still been all too absent from the media narratives.
At the same time, we hold in the Light all suffering peoples and leaders, praying they choose justice.
In Palestine and Israel, peace built on equality is the only path forward.
