QCEA welcomes the postponement of the Dutch – Israeli Cooperation Council

QCEA welcomes the announcement on 29th May that the Netherlands has frozen the  Dutch-Israeli Cooperation Council, which was due to be inaugrated on 7th June 2012. We are concerned, however, that the Netherlands still intends to establish this Council as stated by Foreign Minister Uri Rosenthal. QCEA has sent a second open letter to the Netherlands to remind the government that this is not the right time to intensify links with Israel and to express our concerns about the lack of safeguards for human rights and international law within the agreement.
