At a time when social protection in developed economies (including those of the EU) are coming under increasing pressure, it is important that the EU accepts the importance of social protection as part of poverty reduction strategies in developing and middle income countries.
The Consultation addresses this and the QCEA response seeks to highlight some of the key issues which related to equality, conflict sensitivity and the contribution to global inequality that some EU policies (such as trade, energy, agriculture and fisheries) can and do make.
