Updated report on child immigration detention published

QCEA’s ongoing research into the practice of child immigration detention in Europe continues to represent some of the most authoritative work on this matter of concern. In 2017, we published the most precise statistics available concerning the numbers of children held in detention for their migration status. After extensive consultation with governments across Europe, we’re proud to be able to publish an updated version of our report, with statistics for 2018.

As our report shows, far too many children are still held in secure facilities across Europe, either with our without their parents. QCEA’s report not only shines a light onto this little-discussed practice, but explores workable alternatives which are truer to Europe’s humane values.
