Marialaura De Angelis became our new Rethinking Security Officer in June. Marialaura will work to promote a broader, more inclusive, and sustainable approach to security in Europe, based on peace, justice, and equality.

She has extensive experience in EU policy advocacy, international mediation support, dialogue facilitation, and research on nuclear disarmament, inclusive security governance, and sustainable peace in the Indo-Pacific region.

Since 2008, she has taken part in mediation and dialogue projects across the region, working with some of the world’s top experts in negotiation and diplomacy.

Marialaura speaks Italian, English, French, Japanese, and Spanish, and she also understands some Korean.
