Andrew de Sousa

Andrew joined QCEA in June 2025. Andrew has been engaged in peace and solidarity movements for more than 25 years and has vast experience in the non-profit sector in Asia, North America and Europe. He has focused on research, advocacy and popular education in human rights, peace, climate and economic justice, primarily in the Global South. He has recently been leading the EU advocacy work for Human Rights Monitor and spent a decade with Peace Brigades International. Andrew has an academic background in human rights and political science, and has promoted alternative economic and political models with the activist think tanks La’o Hamutuk and Focus on the Global South.

He has worked and studied in seven different countries and speaks multiple languages, including English, Indonesian and Tetum.
