This discussion paper focuses on a minute from a QCEA Council meeting that states:

It is clear to all of us that the situation is an incredibly complex one, with tremendous suffering of all people involved in the conflict playing a great role. Thus it is clear to us that it is impossible to impose a solution for this conflict from outside. (QCEA Council Minute 2009/20 (part); 24 October 2009)

The paper discusses boycott, divestment and sanctions BDS) consists of, and looks at the origins of a call for BDS against Israel and raises questions for discussion, such as ‘What are our feelings when we consider the call for boycott, divestment and sanctions?’ and ‘Do we feel that there should be a corporate Quaker position on the call for BDS? If so, should this be at the level of your Yearly Meeting? Or at another level?’
