This briefing paper discusses EU trade with Israeli settlements, looking at how this trade reinforces illegal settlements in the West Bank and the effect that this has on the Palestinian population. It contrasts the trade between the EU and settlements with the EU’s own position on the illegality of settlements, as well as the existing EU legislation on labelling and commercial practices, and gives some recommendations on how the situation can be improved.
