PARTICIPANT ROLE DESCRIPTION

 

Role:

– Attend and actively participate in 3 five-day residential meetings

– Attend and actively participate in bi-weekly online supervision meetings between residential sessions.

– Learn and adopt self-care and preventive techniques

– Teach others self-care and preventive techniques

– Share openly issues, problems and successes in teaching others

– Support group members in their work

– Desirable: willing to help with fundraising

 

Basic requirements:

– Experience working with forced migrants, refugees and/or asylum seekers, with plans to continue doing this work

– Commit to 12 months of training and support: 3 residential meetings, bi-weekly meetings of 1.5 – 2 hours

– Able to participate in English

 

Personal characteristics:

– Good communication skills

– Work well in small/medium groups

– Able to talk about issues openly, considerately

– Able to explain complex concepts, train others

– Experience with self-care desirable

  • Sept 26 – Oct 2, 2018
  • March 5 – 13, 2019
  • Sept 17 – 25, 2019

– Able to travel in Europe

– Access to good internet with computer or tablet
