This year’s International Day of Peace has been marked by a joint statement by peacebuilding organisations from around the world.

The statement is focused on global agreements and resolutions and agreements that have taken place over the last year, that address the root causes of conflict and displacement, including in the 2030 Agenda and the Sustaining Peace resolutions. The statement calls on governments to embrace this new mandate and to mainstream peace policy, implement peace at home, foster peace around the world, support funding for peace and to protect and support civil society inclusion. It is signed by a number of Quaker organisations, including the Quaker United Nations Office.
